In response to the Nation’s Fifth Four-year Economic Development Plan to develop the petrochemical industry, Taiwan VCM Corporation (TVCM) was established in 1970 with joint funding fromsix private and state-owned enterprises under the initiation of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. TVCM supply vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) for domestic industries as raw material for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) manufacturing industries.

TVCM is one of the affiliates of USI Group, and is 87.27% owned by China General Plastics Corp. TVCM is the first petrochemical company in Taiwan to adopt oxychlorination process to manufacture VCM and 32% industrial grade hydrochloric acid (HCl). We are the second largest VCM manufacturer in Taiwan.

In 2022, a 100%-owned subsidiary, Global Green Technology Corporation (GGTC), was founded to develop Integrated Green Remediation System. By providing soil and groundwater pollution investigation and remediation services, GGTC strives to minimize the impact of chlorinated pollutants on the environment, and replace chemical agent with bioremediation technology to achieve the goal of pollution prevention and sustainable development.

• Vinyl chloride monomer (VCM)：
  With an annual production capacity of 485,000 metric tons, we mainly supply for domestic demand. We also export to foreign markets such as China, Southeast Asia, India, etc.
• 32% industrial-grade hydrochloric acid (HCl)
  With an annual output of about 26,000 metric tons, we supply the domestic demand for industrial hydrochloric acid.
• Soil and groundwater pollution investigation and remediation.
  TVCM conducts research and development (R&D) on local bioremediation technology and is responsible for environmental protection and microbiology projects. We provide various services such as site investigation, remediation design and implementation, soil and water quality examination, as well as biosubstrate treatment. We are the first in Taiwan to successfully remediate contaminated remediation and control sites for them to be delisted.

TVCM is committed to constantly improve its products, and have insisted upon strict standards in all aspects of operations. On the product side, by debottlenecking, replacing and improving manufacturing equipment, we are able to stably provide high-quality products to our customers with the increase in production capacity and cost reduction. In manufacturing terms, AI Technology has been gradually applied, since 2019, to manufacturing processes and industrial safety management to increase the stability of plant operations. We also introduce Process Safety Management (PSM) to establish clear and specific indicators to improve the reliability of equipment and the safety of work environment.
